Der Verein Radio Stadtfilter wurde 2005 gegründet und sendete in den Jahren 2005 und 2006 mit einer Konzession von kurzer Dauer je einen Monat aus einem improvisierten Studio am Lagerplatz. Seit März 2009 sendet Radio Stadtfilter ein Vollprogramm, das von sechs Redaktionsmitgliedern und 200 ehrenamtlichen Sendungsmachenden produziert wird.
