Slingeland FM is ontstaan uit de piraat Baccara en fuseerde op 18 januari 1996 met de ziekenomroep Studio XYZ. Slingeland FM is al sinds het begin van de radiozender via de ether en analoge kabel te ontvangen. Sinds 2011 zit Slingeland FM ook in het digitale pakket van de glasvezelproviders Glashart media en KPN
